Mythos

A confluencer is someone who seeks to @Bring People Together; this is counter-opposed to an @influencer who seeks to stand apart from everyone else. In the past couple of years, organizations have been shifting the focus from brand-led expansion, which relies on the influencer; and turning towards @Community-Led initiatives, where the confluencer thrives. In a traditional sense, a @confluence is two or more rivers coming together. In people and organizations, we can take it to mean coming together to create something new (a space, a product, etc.) with no hierarchy of one person being more important than the other. [1] This eventually leads to a more authentic, human experience of the Internet. In business, this also relates to @Community-Led Growth. As a society, we are tired of being influenced and being sold to. The old model of the buyer-and-seller dynamic has become less effective. What has become the norm is looking at reviews before deciding on a product or service. What that means is we are increasingly leaning on community, trusting their experiences and opinions when it comes to purchasing decisions and evaluating the value of a product or service--the authenticity inherent in the community affects what products and services we use.
