In 2011, I went to Los Angeles on my first solo trip to interview for a job; one for which I was wholly unqualified (Thanks for pulling strings, Dad). Olivia's at-the-time, ex-boyfriend connected us and suggested she give me a tour. Why she said yes, still eludes us both to this day. Since the tour was through Los Angeles, we spent six hours sitting in traffic as she (slowly) pointed out landmarks and we had a heavy (but rich) conversation about questionable relationships in romance and business.
Years later, while in New York City, she invited me to sleep on her at-the-time, boyfriend's couch while I was there to meet a girl I'd met on Tinder in Tampa. Yea. They took us out dancing.
In 2014, when I was just weeks into my Los Angeles residency, she took me for brunch and gave me a customized, crash course on dating in Los Angeles. Olivia is a magical human.
