Mythos

Tesla, Inc. is an American multinational company specializing in automotive and clean energy solutions. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, it designs, manufactures, and sells battery electric vehicles, energy storage devices for residential and grid-scale use, solar panels, and related products. Founded in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning as Tesla Motors, the company honors the inventor @Nikola Tesla. @Elon Musk led its early funding round and became CEO in 2008. Tesla’s vehicle lineup includes the Roadster, Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, Semi, and Cybertruck, with additional products such as the Powerwall and Megapack for energy storage. Tesla is recognized for vertical integration, in-house technology development, and direct-to-consumer sales. As of 2025, it ranks among the world’s most valuable companies and continues to expand its manufacturing footprint globally, including operations in the United States, China, and Europe. Despite its rapid growth and technological achievements, Tesla has faced legal challenges, production hurdles, and public scrutiny, particularly regarding labor practices and the pace of its self-driving technology claims. I used to want a Tesla and I used to admire @Elon Musk—neither are true today.
