Ben Bloomberg is a creative technologist and production designer whose work spans electro-acoustic instrument design, spatial audio systems, and live show engineering. He has collaborated extensively with 📝Jacob Collier since 2015 as live creative and technical director, mixer, co-music director, and executive producer, contributing to studio albums, world tours, and broadcast performances; he received Recording Academy nominations in 2020 and 2024 as a mixer/engineer on Collier’s albums. A longtime member of the 📝Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, he worked with composer Tod Machover on operas including Death and the Powers and Schoenberg in Hollywood. He co-founded Advanced Sonic Alert Technologies (2020), and founded StreamIQ (2020) and MIXmom (2022). Bloomberg earned an M.S. (2014) and a 🏷️#phd (2020) in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on human-centric live music production technologies.
