Sean Rad (born 1986) is an American entrepreneur and #founder of @Tinder, the location-based dating application launched in 2012. Under his leadership, Tinder became the top-grossing app in ninety-nine countries by 2015 and @Apple's highest-grossing app by 2017. Rad holds fifteen patents including Tinder's double opt-in matching system. Prior to Tinder, he founded Orgoo, a unified messaging platform, and Adly, a celebrity endorsement platform. He left Tinder in 2017 following a valuation dispute with parent company IAC and Match Group, later settling a lawsuit with Tinder's founding team for four hundred forty-one million dollars in 2022.
