Mythos

Divorce Inc is a 2014 #documentary film directed by Joseph Sorge that investigates the business of #divorce and the inner workings of the family court system in the United States. Divorce Inc presents interviews with divorce lawyers, mediators, judges, litigants, and journalists, alleging that over $50 billion is processed annually through family courts—surpassing all other court systems in the country. The film explores concerns that unlicensed custody evaluators and court insiders may financially benefit from prolonged litigation, with limited judicial oversight contributing to extended legal battles, family separations, and significant financial and emotional strain on those involved. As of February 2020, the documentary had received an 81% positive audience rating and a 44% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, based on nine reviews. The film Divorce Inc is based on a #book written with James D. Scurlock, Philip Sternberg, and Blake Harjes, and is narrated by Dr. Drew Pinsky.
