Found content is a type of 📝Submission Framing used on 📝Reddit wherein the submitter of the content is implying through their title and comments that they have discovered it, but have no direct relation to it. Submissions using this framing are often identified by the context that they provide in regards to how they were discovered.
Examples
My cab driver tonight was so excited to share with me that he’d made the cover of the calendar. I told him I’d help let the world see submitted by the_Diva to reddit.com/r/funny
Benefits
- expanded reach — content without a personality or brand attached will have the ability to spread further than one that's been associated
- influence, not impact — found content is likely to develop notions, but not catalyze action
Drawbacks
- weakened defense — if the 📝Original Poster (OP) of a submission using found framing starts defending the content being submitted, it will quickly become suspicious
