October 19, 2018 — 📝Amazon Web Services announced the creation of an official AWS Support account—u/AWSSupport—to the 47K 📝Redditors in the r/aws📝subreddit (below). [1][2]
This submission is a face of 📝Amazon's 📝Reddit Marketing initiative—allocating resources to provide support where their customers congregate rather than forcing them into their system.
Gratitude
The first sentence of their submission, "To better support the thriving community here", is pays homage to the community where—for over a year—their customers have been supporting each other beyond what Amazon was willing or able to offer. Their submission ended with a similar sentiment by thanking the 📝Reddit Moderator that helped them behind the scenes. Moderators are volunteers and their job is thankless—genuine appreciation goes a long way.
Limitation
Considering that the 📝Reddit community invented the '📝Ask Me Anything (AMA)', it's poor form for a company to place limitations on the support they're willing to provide through the platform. This limitation was called out—politely—in the comments. It will serve them well to revise this.
