The Ripped Bodice is the only exclusively romance bookstore in the United States. The store features a vast and diverse selection of romance fiction. In addition to books, the store has a wide selection of gift items with a focus on supporting independent, female owned businesses.
Sisters and owners Leah and Bea Koch raised $91,000 on 📝Kickstarter to bring their dream of a romance-only bookstore to life. The owners of The Ripped Bodice were named the 2017 RWA Steffie Walker Booksellers of the Year by the Romance Writers of America. In 2018, the Koch sisters signed a deal with Sony Studios to develop televisions projects based on romance novels. [1]
