Mike Cavanaugh is Managing Partner of Regiment Alpha, Chairman of Regiment LLC, and Co-Founder of the Small Business Advocacy Council, and a member of advisory boards of several companies. Upon graduation from the University of Wisconsin, Cavanaugh began his career on the CBOT floor as a local in wheats and bonds. From there, he learned the business from the bottom up and developed a passion for the markets, and worked his way through the financial industry, covering options trading, capital raising, founding companies, and merging platforms. For Cavanaugh, there is one factor that rises above all else in starting a company:

It all came down to people – every time, every venture. [...] You’ve got to have that big market, but your team and that team’s culture, especially the leader of that team, is the most important thing, we believe, for success. I think that’s the number one rule – it’s really about people. Great people build great teams, great teams build great cultures and great cultures build great companies. [3]

Off-work, Cavanaugh loves spending time with my wife and three kids. He is an avid fan of any Sports team that resides in the Cheddar Curtain and in fact, still plays pick-up games whenever the opportunity presents itself. [2]
