Maven is a cohort-based learning platform founded in 2020 that enables experts and practitioners to design and teach live, interactive online courses to paying students. Maven's model emphasizes real-time engagement, community cohorts, and hands-on application over passive video consumption. Instructors ("Maven Experts") run multi-week courses with live sessions, community discussion, and direct access to the instructor. Maven earns revenue through a revenue-share model with instructors. The platform has become a hub for operators, executives, and subject-matter experts to monetize their expertise — particularly in marketing, product, VC, and career transitions. As of April 2026, Maven hosts courses across brand strategy, fractional work, VC demystification, community growth, and more.
Encountered Maven as the host organization behind a salon dinner I attended in April 2026 in Los Angeles. The Maven team running the event included Mallory Contois (VP of Growth), Delaney Niermann (Partnerships), and Arjay McCandless (Social Marketing). Multiple guests at the dinner were active Maven Experts running courses on the platform, including Amanda Schwartz Ramirez, Emily Hollender, Jasmine Bina, Grace McCarrick, and Joseph Olender.
