Mythos

Remote work refers to an employment arrangement in which individuals perform their job duties outside of traditional office environments, utilizing digital tools and communication platforms to stay connected with colleagues and organizations. This model has gained significant traction since the early 2010s, with advancements in internet connectivity and collaborative software making distributed teams more feasible. The shift accelerated dramatically during the @COVID-19 pandemic, prompting widespread adoption as businesses sought to maintain continuity while adhering to public health guidelines. Remote work continues to evolve, influencing organizational culture, work-life balance, and global talent dynamics. I've worked remotely since 2013, including a year spent traveling nomadically. When the COVID pandemic hit, I witnessed many people struggle to develop the self-management systems and digital empathy that I'd already cultivated through years of experience. I found myself trying to offer guidance where possible, but I was mostly grateful for how those earlier challenges had equipped me. The transition for others often revealed the invisible labor behind effective remote work—disciplines of boundary-setting, asynchronous communication, and trust-building—which I had already internalized.
