Mythos

The Streisand effect is an online phenomenon where an attempt to hide or remove information ends up drawing more attention to it, making the information more widely known. It's named after singer Barbra Streisand, who, in 2003, sued to remove photos of her house from the internet, but the lawsuit instead made the photos go viral.
