Dr. Zhana Vrangalova is a sex researcher, #writer, #speaker, and #educator who studies casual sex, non-monogamy, and sexual orientation. Vrangalova co-hosts The Science of Sex podcast and is an adjunct professor at the NYU Psychology department where she teaches human sexuality. Vrangalova has presented at @TEDx and been featured by VICE, New Yorker, Psychology Today, Playboy, @PornHub, The Huffington Post, etc. Previously she founded @The Casual Sex Project. Vrangalova is currently conducting the largest, and most comprehensive, survey on squirting through; SquirtingSurvey.com. She is also developing Open Smarter; an online course that enable couples to transition—safely and smartly—from monogamy to consensual non-monogamy. Zhana and I met in 2017 as she was biking by @Original Muscle Beach with a friend; a chance encounter that led to hours of laughter and @play. At one point, I remarked that she was good at taking directions which incited laughter and a vague explanatory quip from a mutual friend who said "usually she's the one giving them." I met Zhana in a state of play and only later discovered her extensive body of work. She's a portrait of someone living authentically and is constantly exploring.
Education
Vrangalova received her Bachelors from University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Macedonia and holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Cornell University where she studied how different aspects of sexuality—especially casual sex/promiscuity and heterosexuality—are linked to health and well-being.
